With the 2020 Holiday Season sneaking up on us, we are all in need of some cheer and gift-giving! But many of us just don’t want to head out to the stores, especially with the threat of COVID, so we’re looking for online ways to spread the Mets love.
Of course, the MLB.com shop has all your official jerseys and hats. Fanatics is also a great site for official merchandise. But sometimes it’s the unique and different items we’re looking for – for the fan who already has all the everyday Mets gear.
I’ve put together an online guide to some of my favorite unusual Mets gifts I have given and received – and they will all ship to you by Christmas or Hanukkah.
So forget the red and green this holiday season – deck the halls in orange and blue!
Best 2020 Book Releases
A Terrific Read
Tom Seaver: A Terrific Life is THE Mets book for your 2020 holiday season. Filled with poignant anecdotes and thrilling 1969 coverage, this biography is a must-have for all Mets fans. Check out my review here to learn why this will be a new Mets classic biography!

The Captain: A Memoir is a must-have for any Mets fan who misses our beloved captain. Beat writer Anthony DiComo captures the wholesome goodness of number 5. Check out my review here if you want to learn more before adding it to your stocking!
A Darling Book For Everyone
Another recommended text that’s hot for this holiday season is my good friend Ron Darling’s 108 Stitches: Loose Threads, Ripping Yarns, and the Darndest Characters from My Time in the Game, which came out last year. It may not be a 2020 release, but it’s a recent Mets book that I highly recommend. This book’s interesting format makes it a fun read for the whole family. Check out my book review to learn more before picking one up!
Memoirs of Mr. Met Himself
And of course, I can’t forget my wonderful coworker over at Citi Field, the brilliant team historian Jay Horwitz. His Mr. Met: How a Sports-Mad Kid from Jersey Became Like Family to Generations of Big Leaguers is a testament to his tenacity and the story of a team through the years. Check out my review to learn more as well!
Great Gifts for Mrs. Met
The Official Dooney & Bourke Purse
I got this Donney & Bourke purse for my girlfriend a few years ago, and she loves it because she “can take it anywhere and look professional.” Which I think was code for “you did well, buddy.” So do well, gentlemen, do well.
Every Queen Deserves Her Crown
No one represents Queens better than the Mets and the 7Line. Bring them together with this crown fit for any queen – the Ultimate 7Line Queens Hat. Let her know exactly what she is every time she rocks the orange and blue!

Mr. Met’s Essentials
The 7Line Sweater Everyone Will Want
I’ve had an addiction to the 7Line’s gear since the beginning, and there are so many great items on there to choose from. If you want to be safe, try one of their easy-to-use gift cards. But for this 2020 holiday season, I’m snagging a few of their hot new Home Run Apple Sweaters for all my best Mets friends and coworkers, and you’ll want to too!
Lounging for Game Time
I think we’re all spending a lot of time lounging in our pajamas, so why not get the fluffy bathrobe to match? This comfy Mets blue bathrobe with official logo is a great way to keep your man comfy through the long winter!
Every Dad Loves a Wallet
I have received this wallet, worn it out over the years, and gotten it again – that’s how much I love it. I’ve even given to my own dad on Father’s Day, and it never disappoints. I love this wallet because it looks classy and professional in work settings, but shows my love of the team. Pick one up for the men in your life!

A Puzzle for All Families
Stuck at home and want something for the whole family? This Citi Field jigsaw puzzle took my girlfriend and I three days to complete, and it looks great mounted on our wall!

Decorate Your Mets Cave
My Favorite Mets Throw
There are a lot of Mets throw rugs and blankets out there, but this is my favorite. I love its heavier feel and its hyper-realistic artwork. Perfect for the classy Mets cave!
Raise a Glass and Make a Toast!
No Mets cave is complete without pint glasses for your special brew or beverage. I own a lot of Mets glassware, but these glasses are my favorite because they are high quality and they celebrate Mets history, not just the logo! Pick up a pair to bring in the New Year!
